Fall to Layout # 60 Take Two

Happy Sunday! Hope you're ready for the next sketch.

Some measurement suggestions:
Card Size: 4-1/4 x 5-1/2
Larger layer:  3-1/2 x 2-3/4
Rounded top: 5/8 x 3-1/2

Here's my card! I just got the birthday balloons stamp set and thought it would well with the sketch. I started cutting out and stamping several of the the balloons, undecided at first about colour. I ended up going with a Hawaiian Shores balloon. I used the starry background image and some gold embossing powder to jazz it up. I decided not to have my extra balloon die cuts go to waste, so I glued them all together (4 total) to give dimension to the balloon. Next I stamped the balloon string and the sentiment, as well as a few stars on the Aqua Mist layer. I cut the gold cardstock and used a punch to round the corners. I added a few wooden stars from my embellishment collection. The final step was added a line of simple paper piercing.

Stamps: Birthday Balloons
Ink: Black, Tropical Teal, Versamark
Paper: Aqua Mist, Hawaiian Shores, Bermuda Bay, Gold
Accessories, etc.: gold embossing powder, wooden stars, birthday balloon die

Here's Chera's card:

Hello everyone! Thanks for popping by today! Hope you enjoy today’s sketch card and feel inspired to share with us your interpretation!

I wasn’t to sure the way this card was going to go today but when I sat at my craft table I had that yellow card stock out with that die over I decided to make something work with the inspiration I had a few days ago when I was crafting! I went through my dies and also found these fun feathers I’ve not used in forever and thought they’d look fun with some ink blending! I used 4 colours....I went with the 4 that were on top of the pile not knowing if they’d work or not, but I’m happy with them! (Picked raspberry, fossilized amber, cracked pistachio and seedless preserves oxides). The sentiment is from Wplus9 strictly sentiments 2. Once my card was all put together it needed some bling! Added some pretty pink posh clear sequins. Just classed it up some ;)

Hope you have a happy Sunday!!

Fall to Layout # 59 Take Two

Happy Sunday!

We're off to a bit of a later start today. Both Chera and I got our cards made last night (over a Skype session together too), but we felt like having a lazy Sunday morning, so the post is going live a little later.

Anyway, here's the sketch. It's another square one. Don't be thrown by the purse image in the sketch, it's just a fun graphic to designate that your main focal point is there. Apparently we were both in the mood for food themed cards.

Here's my card. I'm featuring an "oldie" from Lawn Fawn- Roll With It:

Some dimensions:
Card Base: 5.5x5.5
Main Image Layer: 4.5 x 4.5
Side Pattern: 4.5 x .75
Image Layer Mat: 4-5/8 x 4-5/8

For the card, I stamped all the sushi platter components, cut them out and coloured them and then arranged them on the white square base. I stamped the greeting (from MFT Soda Pop set) and then adhered it all. Next I used the two blossom images from the Roll With It set to make a bit of patterned paper. I added some brown and white baker's twine for the ribbon element and then put it all together on a kraft card base.

Here's Chera's card:

Happy Sunday everyone! Today’s card may look like it’s not so clean and simple in the details, so let me share with you why it is! On my craft table I keep a bowl of scraps from previous projects I’ve done in the past! The texture paste ice cream stacks I made way back in June of 2016! (Won’t lie it didn’t feel like that long ago that I was playing around making ice cream!). I really wasn’t to sure what I wanted to do for this week's card so I pulled out my bowl and found my inspiration there! The stamp set I used today is from Hero Arts “colour layering ice cream”

Hope you find inspiration and I look forward to seeing what you create!!!

Fall to Layout #58 Take Two

Happy Sunday!

In case you're wondering, we're skipping the Take Two of #57 and jumping right onto to #58.

I changed mine up a little from the sketch, but kept some of the main themes- using a group of 3 type image and using some scallops.

Although the original sketch was designed to make a narrow card, I decided to go with the standard 4.25 x 5.5.

A few other measurements:
Image Panel: 2 x 4-1/8
Image Layer: 2-1/8 x 4-1/8
Scalloped Layer (approximate):  3-1/4 x 4-1/8

Here's my card. I kept it pretty simple, using this fun stack of cups image from
Latte Love. Heads up, this one is retiring forever in May, so if you like it, go get it! I trimmed off the bottom two cups to make it a stack of three. I coloured the cups with a mix of Copics and Stampin' Up! markers.  I finished it off with a sentiment from that same stamp set, as well as a few Nuvo drops.

Stamps: Latte Love
Ink: Tuxedo Black- Memento
Other: Nuvo Drops- Teal, Clear

Here's Chera's card:

Happy Sunday everyone! Here's my card for this weeks sketch! I pulled out some Papertrey ink Butterflies to make my card!! Of course using my go to colour combo from Wplus9!!

Fall to Layout #56 Take Two!

Happy Sunday!

It's a long weekend here, so I am loving having the extra day to get some crafting in!

Here's the sketch:

Some dimensions for reference:
Card Base: 4-1/4 x 5-1/2
Image Panel: 3-3/8 x 4-1/4
Mini Patterned Panel: 1-1/4 x 4-1/4
Optional Layer for Image Panel: 3-1/2 x 4-1/4

This card is also my entry for one of the Olympic Challenges over at My Favorite Things. It's for the 20 minute challenge. One of the great things with doing a sketch is that most of the guesswork is gone since you have your layout. You just have to find some paper, ink,and stamps.

I used a retired MFT set- Pretty Poppies. I love this set! It has great sentiments. It also has a nice long word background (which is what I used to make my patterned panel)

Stamps: Pretty Poppies
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Olive Olive, Early Espresso
Paper: Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso
Accessories, etc: Brown tweed ribbon

Here's Chera's card:

I absolutely love this sketch! It's so simple but yet so elegant!! I also realized that MANY of my cards are purple. In case you didn’t notice I love purple!! Love it! So I told myself this sketch was not allowed to be purple….(might have to make another one tho that is purple. hehe) For this card I pulled out Papertrey Ink bitty bouquet set! I love this set I’ve used it many times but every time I use it I think I should use it more! The ink colours for this card are Wplus9 wild mango, pumpkin spice and nautical navy. The green is from Simon says stamp green leaf!

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Fall to Layout #55 Take Two

Happy Sunday!

I think Chera and I are wintered out. You may notice a certain Spring vibe in our cards today!

Here is the sketch:

The original idea when sketched was to coordinate the pattern paper with the larger focal image. The "button" part of the sketch can be anything- just ribbon, an actual button, or a bow or knot.

Here is my card:

Some dimensions for you:
Standard Card Base: 4-1/4 x 5-1/2
Purple Layer: 4 x 5-1/4
Image/Sentiment Layer: 2-3/8 x 3-1/8
Image Frame Layer: 2-1/2 x 3-1/4

I don't typically combine challenges, but when I saw that the Beautiful Butterflies set was on the Papertrey Ink 2018 retirement list, I had to use it for the retirement list challenge! This set has served me well over the years. I love the sentiments in and have made many birthday, wedding, and mother's day cards with it. If you love it, but don't have it, check out the link above- it can still be purchased until May. After that it's gone for good!

I mixed the old, with the new (kind of). Lilac Grace is a colour that was released a bit more recently and I hadn't even cracked open my pack of cardstock!

I arranged the smaller butterflies on my MISTI and stamped a nice background with them. I rearranged them a few times to fill the whole panel. Next, I stamped the large butterfly on my image panel. To make it a bit more interesting, I cut out the one side of the wings so that it would "fly" off the page. I stamped my greeting over the butterfly and then also added a bit of white Nuvo drops to the wings. The image panel was placed on some Amethyst Allure card stock and then the card was finished off with a touch of light purple sheer polka dot ribbon.

Supplies (affiliate links used):
Stamps: Beautiful Butterflies
Ink: Lilac Grace, Black
Paper: Stamper's Select, Lilac Grace, Amethyst Allure
Accessories, etc.: Ribbon, Nuvo drops

Now onto Chera's card!

Hello Everyone! Hope you had a great week!!! Here's my card for this week's sketch! Pulled out some oldies (which I seem to do often) This set is from Wplus9 called Mother's Day Bouquet. I used the smaller images from the stamp set to create the background base for the card! Just another way to utilize smaller stamps and create your own designer paper in whatever colours work for you!! Once that was done I then cut out the square using a MFT stitched die and stamped the flowers onto it. One of the flowers I cut out by hand and popped up with a glue dot to give a little dimension to it! After that was stamped I pulled out another oldie from Wplus9, strictly sentiments 2, as it fit perfectly inside the die cut square! Once that was done I cut a strip of white paper and used my purple ink pad to colour it for the perfect match!

Look forward to your creations this week! Thanks so much for stopping by!
